Jo Tanner

Jo Tanner is a Director at the London office of Rud Pedersen, a highly experienced senior counsellor to clients across the full spectrum of strategic public affairs and communications. She is a recognised media commentator having worked in Westminster for more than two decades. She appears regularly on Times Radio, the BBC, Sky News and co-hosts the Whitehall Sources podcast. The former co-founder and CEO of a leading boutique public affairs consultancy, Jo combines entrepreneurial flair with political insights, media experience and an impressive network to develop bespoke creative solutions to client’s challenges.
She has worked on high profile campaigns, navigated major corporate and political crises, advised on High Court actions and is regularly called upon for senior counsel.

Jo started her career as a broadcast journalist working at Independent Television News before becoming a media officer for the Conservative Party. After her time with Her Majesty’s Official Opposition, she worked in charity and public sector communications, then became communications chief for the British Chamber of Commerce prior to setting up her own successful firm. Jo joined Rud Pedersen from APCO where she served as a Senior Director for three years.

She is on the Advisory Boards of The Good Growth Foundation and Society Matters think tank and also donates time to helping many charities. Taking up football in later life, she also founded the UK Parliamentary Women’s Football Team almost a decade ago.
