Heidi Nystedt-Suvanto

Before joining the Rud Pedersen Helsinki office, Heidi worked as a Senior Specialist at the Ministry of Defence political department. Since joining the MoD in 2008, she has developed a broad understanding of security and defence issues and cooperation.

Heidi has extensive experience in Nordic Defence Cooperation, having acted as team leader for the Nordic Defence Cooperation (NORDEFCO) team at the MoD for several years. She has been the desk officer responsible for conventional arms control, the OSCE and arctic issues. She has also worked as a Senior Specialist at the MFAs’ arms control unit where she was responsible for conventional arms control and humanitarian demining issues.

Heidi holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Åbo Akademi University and she has studied strategy at the National Defence University.
