As of January 1st, 2025, our Netherlands office has seen a change in leadership. Marije Laffeber has stepped into the Managing Director position, taking the reins from founders Sybrig Van Keep and Mayke van Keep. The trio will work closely together until mid-2025 to ensure a smooth transition and a strong continuation of the strategic direction.

With more than 25 years of experience in communication, politics and strategic advice, Marije brings an enormous amount of knowledge and expertise. She has held leadership roles, such as Labour Party (PvdA) International and EU affairs Secretary and Deputy Secretary-General of the Party of European Socialists in Brussels. Her vision in politics, communications, strategic thinking, and connective leadership make her the right person to help Issuemakers continue to grow.

Morten Rud Pedersen, Rud Pedersen Group CEO & President commented: ‘Marije has a great portfolio of experiences and represents the kind leadership we look to foster in Rud Pedersen Group. Issuemakers are expert agenda setters and Marije is the right person to grow the brand and help clients navigate the ever more dynamic Dutch market and all our markets across Europe. We are thrilled to welcome her to the leadership team and look forward to working with her closely.’

Under Marije's leadership, Issuemakers will continue to focus on putting social and political issues on the agenda, managing and monitoring them. With her new appointment, the agency wants to focus even further on increasing the social and political impact of its clients and strengthening the position of Issuemakers as an expert in the field of issue management.

‘I’m excited to start in my new role as Managing Director at Issuemakers Rud Pedersen,’ said Marije Laffeber. ‘The past year at Rud Pedersen Public Affairs was a great experience. I look forward to continue working with a fantastic team in Amsterdam on strategic communication, campaigns, public affairs and agenda setting around societal issues in the Netherlands, Brussels and with more than 650 RP colleagues in 20 other offices in Europe!'

Sybrig and Mayke, founders of Issuemakers, said, ‘We are delighted to welcome Marije to Issuemakers as she takes on the leadership of our agency. With her management expertise and extensive experience in both European and Dutch politics and communication, she is an invaluable asset to our team. The entire Issuemakers team is excited about this collaboration!’
