Rud Pedersen Public Affairs Brussels is running a series of bite-sized lunchtime online conversations on how the European Union can reach its ambitious targets in the field of climate.

The discussions are led by Senior Advisor Peter Vis and provide participants with food for thought from some of Europe’s thought leaders on a challenge that is not going away any time soon.

In the first discussion, guest speaker Diederik Samsom, Head of Cabinet for Frans Timmermans (Commission EVP for the European Green Deal), emphasised that the pathway to European rejuvenation post-COVID-19 would lie within the green transition, which will not be paused or slowed down by the pandemic.

The former head of the Commission’s Directorate General for Climate Action, Jos Delbeke, explained during the second webinar why lower carbon prices in recent times demonstrated that the Emissions Trading Scheme was reacting as it should to economic slowdown, and talked about what we can expect to happen next.

Today in the third instalment in the series, Kai Luecke, Head of External Affairs at ZF Group (a technology company serving the automotive sector) will be exploring how to advance sustainable mobility in Europe with us.

The series will include further discussions on key sectors such as power generation, buildings and the Climate Law.
