As a senior advisor, Peter provides strategic and technical counsel to clients on how to successfully navigate complex regulatory processes for chemicals, including under the EU CLP, REACH and biocides regimes and has over 25 years of experience in consultancy and regulatory roles. Recent projects include supporting clients in their efforts to ensure that harmonised classification decisions under the EU CLP Regulation are based on robust scientific evaluation and that active substance renewal decisions under the EU Biocidal Products Regulation are informed by a clear understanding of the associated socio-economic impacts.
Before joining Rud Pedersen, Peter was a team leader at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) where he coordinated the development of REACH restriction proposals and worked closely with ECHA’s scientific committees for risk assessment (RAC) and socio-economic analysis (SEAC) as well as the European Commission. Peter is a member of the UK REACH Independent Scientific Expert Pool (RISEP).
