Derya Özgün

Before joining Rud Pedersen, Derya worked as a Communications Consultant at Gullers Grupp. She also has experience working at the Finnish Parliament as political assistant to MP Timo Heinonen, representing the National Coalition Party. Derya held an internship at the Liberal Democrat's International office in London, where she worked mainly with Westminster Foundation for Democracy's research-projects.

Derya has several years of experience in decision-making on municipal level and as a member of the municipality, town board and education board in her hometown of Riihimäki. She has also held various party offices such as Chairman of the local youth organisation and Vice Chairman of the regional youth organisation of the National Coalition Party. As a result, Derya was appointed one of the seven most influential young politicians in Finland in 2017.

She holds a Master’s degree in Scandinavian languages and pedagogical studies from the University of Helsinki.
