Anders Åkesson

Specialising in the healthcare sector including new pharmaceuticals, rare diseases, and health policy.

As Senior Advisor, Anders primarily supports clients in the healthcare sector, in particular in their relations with government on the national, regional, and municipal levels. Recent projects include supporting clients introduce new treatments for rare diseases through direct advocacy, parliamentary seminars, and roundtables with key stakeholders as well as broader messaging. Anders served for twelve years as Regional Councillor in Region Skåne until 2018, responsible for healthcare, primary care, psychiatry, and medicine, and from 2014-2018 was Vice Chair of the Regional Board. Anders served on the Healthcare Delegation within the influential Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions for eight years. On several occasions, the leading medical publication Dagens Medicin has listed Anders as one of the Sweden’s most influential politicians within healthcare.

Anders has been a member of the Green Party since 1991 and served on the party board for seven years. Anders is a trained nurse by profession.
