Lauma Umule-Taurina

Lauma joined VA Government in 2024. In her role, she primarily conducts research on policy processes, prepares analytical materials, and performs regulatory monitoring. Lauma works mainly with clients representing the FMCG sector. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies from the University of Latvia, specializing in Japanese studies. Previously, she gained work experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she was responsible for coordinating the Nordic-Baltic (NB8) cooperation format, preparing for Latvia’s NB8 presidency year, in addition to overseeing bilateral relations with Finland. In her free time, Lauma is passionate about literature, history, gardening, and sports activities.
