Dins Smits joined VA Government in 2024 acting as an External Senior Adviser on health issues. Dins is a professional in both the Latvian academic and healthcare sectors, with more than 30 years of experience. Dins continues to hold the position of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Riga Stradins University, a role he stepped into in 2023. In Dins work experience he has held numerous leadership positions in both local and international companies, including serving as the Chairman of the Board at Pauls Stradiņs Clinical University Hospital and holding senior roles within the 'Repharm' healthcare group and 'GlaxoSmithKline Latvia' pharmaceutical company.
