Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen

Strøm-Erichsen served as Minister of Defence and Minister of Health and Care Services in Jens Stoltenberg’s second government (2005-2013). She has served as a local representative in the City Council for Bergen (1987-2005), as well as Mayor and Chief Commissioner (1999 – 2003). Strøm-Erichsen was elected to Parliament 2005-2013 for the Labour Party.

In addition to her political positions, Strøm-Erichsen has gained international experience through NATO, EU and WHO, as well as Chairwoman of the board of West Norway’s Brussels office. Strøm-Erichsen has also been a member of the Council of Europe, and President of the Organization of World Heritage Cities. Strøm-Erichsen is the Vice President of the Norwegian Brain Council, and a member of the board at KONGSBERG.

She is educated as a Computer Science Engineer at Bergen University College and has additional studies from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
