Reiner Hoffmann

Reiner Hoffmann began his career at the pharmaceutical company Farbwerke Hoechst. He was director of the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) in Brussels and president of the ETUC from 2003 to 2007. His work focused on European economic and employment policy, structural and industrial policy, co-determination and corporate social responsibility. In 2009, he was elected regional director of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industrial Union (IG BCE). From May 2014 to May 2022, he was Chairman of the Confederation of German Trade Unions (DGB).
