Marcus Rantala

Marcus is recognised as a solution-oriented professional with strong diplomatic skills, earning trust across party lines in Finnish politics. His deep interest in international affairs and business complements his profile as an open-minded and strategically minded leader.

Marcus has been part of Rud Pedersen for over ten years, contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation through his extensive experience and broad network. His professional relationships span senior politicians, the banking sector, industry, NGOs, and leading trusts and foundations. He has advised clients in a wide range of sectors, including defence, finance, energy, FMCG, retail, and high technology.

Before joining Rud Pedersen, Marcus gained comprehensive insight into political decision-making while serving in all Finnish Governments between 2001 and 2015, holding positions as Political Adviser and State Secretary across several ministries. His political background lies in the liberal Swedish People’s Party (SFP/RKP), and he continues to serve as a member of both the Helsinki City Council and the City Board.
