Marcus Rantala is known as a solution-oriented person with diplomatic skills, and as a result he has gained great trust across party borders in Finnish politics. His interest in international affairs and business completes his profile as a broadminded professional. More than a decade of professional activities has helped Marcus create an established network which includes leading politicians, banking, industry, NGOs, trusts and foundations.
Marcus Rantala has a broad perspective on political decision-making after serving all the Finnish Governments since 2001 as a political advisor or state secretary in different Ministries. In the previous Government (2011-2015), he worked as state secretary at the ministry of Defence. He also served as principal and CEO at Solvalla sports academy in Espoo during 2007-2009.
Marcus Rantala's background is in the liberal Swedish Peoples Party (SFP/RKP) and he is a member of the Helsinki city council and city board.
