Iliya Dzhongarov

Iliya brings EU legal insight and institutional experience to clients in highly regulated sectors.

At Rud Pedersen, he advises clients in the food & agri, digital, consumer goods, and healthcare industries on navigating EU legislative changes and adapting to national implementation.

With a background in law and policymaking, Iliya helps clients shape messages, build alliances, and influence outcomes on complex regulatory issues. He has worked on campaigns driving important regulatory changes on local and EU level, coordinating input on high-profile consultations, and positioning clients ahead of upcoming European Commission initiatives.

Before joining Rud Pedersen, Iliya contributed to interinstitutional coordination during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and worked at the Press Centre of the European Court of Justice.

Before joining our team in Sofia he also spent six months in Rud Pedersen’s Brussels office, working on files linked to EU legislative processes.
