Olav Jones

Olav was Deputy Director-General and Director of Economics and Finance at Insurance Europe from 2011 to 2025. In this role, he led work on prudential regulation, financial and sustainability reporting, investments, sustainable finance, and oversaw secretarial services for the Chief Financial Officer Forum and the Global Federation of Insurance
Associations. He was also a member of EFRAG’s General Assembly, the IFRS Advisory Council, and both of EIOPA’s stakeholder groups, chairing the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group.​

Prior to this, Olav spent 15 years in the insurance industry with Prudential Plc, Fortis Insurance and Ageas, holding senior roles in risk, capital management and strategy, including Group Chief Risk Officer. During this time, he chaired one of Insurance Europe’s key working groups and was a founding member of the Chief Risk Officer Forum. Earlier in his career, he worked as a consultant to the financial services industry at Oliver Wyman, focusing on banking clients. ​
