Olav Jones

Olav was Deputy Director-General and Director of Economics and Finance at Insurance Europe from 2011 to 2025. He led work on prudential regulation, investments, financial and sustainability reporting, and oversaw secretarial services for the Chief Financial Officer Forum and the Global Federation of Insurers. He has been a member of EFRAG’s General Assembly, the IFRS Advisory Council, and both EIOPA’s stakeholder groups, chairing the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group.
Prior to this, Olav spent 15 years in the insurance industry with Prudential Plc, Fortis Insurance/Ageas, holding senior roles in risk, capital management and strategy, including Group Chief Risk Officer. While at Fortis, he was a founding member of the Chief Risk Officer Forum. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant to the financial services industry at Oliver Wyman.

Olav holds degrees in Engineering and Finance and has over 30 years of experience in European financial services and public affairs.
