Nicholas Lunt

Nicholas is a Director at Rud Pedersen Public Affairs in Brussels. Previously he was Managing Director of BCW Brussels’ Communications Team where he led a number of international client relationships for the agency including Eastman, Hikvision and MHP. He was based in Dubai from 2009 where he worked with a wide array of government, listed entity and financial services clients in the UAE, KSA, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, and Iraq.

For ten years in the 1990’s he was a Managing Director with Ogilvy & Mather in Brussels leading integrated communications assignments for public and private sector clients across the EU, in eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Prior to his move to the UAE, Nicholas spent five years working as a high-level political communications and election communications strategist in Iraq (2003-2005), Afghanistan (2006-2007), the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) (2008) and Kenya (2007/8 and 2016/17).

In Iraq he was the communications adviser to the Iraqi Prime Minister’s office in Baghdad; in Afghanistan he spent a year as NATO’s Spokesman in Kabul reporting to the NATO Secretary General and one year advising President Karzai’s office on Counter Narcotics information-operations.

After graduating from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Nicholas spent ten years in the British Army serving in Northern Ireland, Belize, Brunei and Germany. From 1985 to 1987 he commanded a reconnaissance squadron of The Sultan of Oman’s Army on active duty on the Yemen border. He retired in the rank of Major. Prior to his Army service he attended the University of Loughborough, UK and was awarded a BA (Hons) in Government & Economics.
