Neil McMillan joined Rud Pedersen Public Affairs Brussels as a Senior advisor in 2024. He has over 40 years of political and regulatory experience in advocacy and legislative negotiation.
At Rud Pedersen, Neil advises clients in the food, agriculture and retail sector (including on supply chain and fair trading), in energy, digital technology, competition policy and defence. He has also been advising on trade and global policy issues for a number of clients.
Before joining Rud Pedersen, Neil has gained expertise in the workings of government and the EU, both as Director in the UK Prime Minister's European and Global Affairs secretariat and heading the UK trade and industry ministry's department for European policy. He has extensive knowledge of international trade, having been UK permanent representative to the WTO, also chairing successful WTO negotiations liberalising global telecoms services. He worked on advocacy for an international pipeline project for a German energy company and advised a wide range of clients as Partner in an international public affairs consultancy.
