Marta Marafona
Research Executive, Brussels
Since she joined in September 2025, Marta has been focusing on agrifood trade and substance advocacy in the Food and Agriculture team at Rud Pedersen in Brussels.
Her work includes conducting outreach campaigns for the food industry and contributing to regulatory processes for substance re-approvals, with a focus on policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement. Marta’s work in agricultural trade also involves monitoring EU relations with third countries, as well as analysing the impact of trade developments on clients across the agriculture and agricultural commodities sectors.
Before joining Rud Pedersen, she gained experience at a Brussels-based consultancy, advising clients on agrifood, trade and chemical policy. She also completed a traineeship in the Analysis and Research Team at the Council, where she strengthened her knowledge in horizon scanning and foresight. Prior to moving to Brussels, Marta was a Junior Lecturer at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs at Leiden University, teaching courses on international relations and security.
