Maitane Barandela Rabereau

Maitane is a Research Executive in the Energy and Climate practice at Rud Pedersen Public Affairs in Brussels. She holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Law and Business Administration from IE University, as well as a dual Master’s degree in Law and Corporate Legal Advising (LL.M.) from IE Law School.

A qualified Spanish lawyer, Maitane began her career in the Madrid office of an international law firm, where she advised clients on corporate governance, M&A transactions and capital markets. This role developed her ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions and strengthened her strategic understanding of corporate structures and compliance.

She later worked in Brussels as a Project and Legal Assistant at a foundation dedicated to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly through EU funding and international cooperation. There, she gained hands-on experience in liaising with public and private stakeholders, supporting project consortia, and ensuring compliance with European frameworks and funding programmes.

Maitane is a native Spanish and French speaker, fluent in English, and has an intermediate knowledge of Mandarin Chinese.
