Alessandro Torello

Director, Brussels

Alessandro is responsible for the energy and climate practice of the Brussels office. He has worked in this space for more than 16 years – in journalism, for a trade association, a large corporation and now in consulting. As correspondent for Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal in Brussels, he reported on energy and climate policies, analysing their impact on different industries. After a three-and-a-half-year stint at a trade association, he joined one of Italy’s largest energy companies, taking up different roles at the nexus between policy and communications. He developed a first-hand expertise on how to position business via-à-vis policy and advised C-suite executives. Before moving to Brussels, Alessandro was Bloomberg’s transport reporter in Rome.

Alessandro studied in Italy, France, and the US, where he earned a Master’s degree in international relations from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC.

He was a high school exchange student and is still volunteering for the organisation that runs the programs. When he has time, he also trains for triathlons. Alessandro speaks Italian, English, French and Spanish.
