Sophie has a strong academic background in European politics which is complemented by practical experience from multiple internships.
She holds a Master of Arts degree (cum laude) in European Public Affairs as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in European Studies from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. During her studies, she developed in-depth knowledge of political analysis, policy evaluation, lobbying and interest group behaviour. Her master thesis dealt with the effects of institutional characteristics on lobbying influence.
Prior to joining Rud Pedersen, Sophie was a trainee at the German Federal Foreign Office, supporting the Communications team for the German EU-Council Presidency. She also completed an internship at Rud Pedersen Public Affairs in Stockholm and an internship at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, a German political foundation associated with the Christian Democratic Party. Here, she worked in the department for Civic Education on the organizing of political events on the municipal level.
