Robert Wright is Director at Rud Pedersen Public Affairs Brussels. He provides senior counsel across our client base with a specific focus on chemicals, environment, climate and energy policy and leads overall corporate sustainability strategy in our Brussels office. Robert enjoys business impact and reputation issues that relate to the nexus between business strategy, regulatory affairs and political advocacy and compliance.

Robert is an Irish national with three decades of experience working in EU and global public policy and public affairs. He worked for DG Environment of the European Commission and also acted as Special Advisor to European Environment Commissioner Margot Wallstrom and the European Environment Agency in Copenhagen. Since then, he has worked in several senior in-house Company roles as Director, Senior Director and VP levels at Intel Corporation, First Solar and Solyndra where he led those companies' advocacy and compliance strategies on environment, chemicals and energy policy and regulation. He also has extensive Industry Association experience having worked at senior level and as head of industry associations in the oil and gas, biofuels and the lifts/buildings sector.

Robert is married with two children and speaks Italian, French and Spanish. Before starting his career in Brussels, Robert studied Political Science at the University of Warwick and completed post-graduate work in public policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science and in environmental regulation at the European University Institute in Florence.
