Mikael Eriksson was Deputy Mayor and Mayor in the City of Sundbyberg from 2012 to 2018. During this time, Sundbyberg was continuosly recognised as the fastest growing municipality in Sweden. As Mayor, Mikael secured funding and negotiated contracts for large infrastructure projects, housing developments and social services.
During his time at the Government Offices, Mikael first worked for the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Carl Bildt, and the Minister for International Aid, Ms. Gunilla Carlsson. From 2008 to 2010, Mikael worked as a Political Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mr. Fredrik Reinfeldt, including during the Swedish Presidency of the European Union in 2008.
