Anna Nergårdh

Anna is a physician and specialist in both cardiology and internal medicine. She has a lifelong interest in organization, patient safety and quality improvement.

For the last fifteen years, she has been working as a leader and expert in different levels of the Swedish healthcare system. She has been Chief Medical Officer and Deputy County Council Director in Stockholm County Council, as well as Head of Operations at Stockholm South Hospital, where she also served as head of the cardiovascular clinic. She has served as a member of several boards with the healthcare association. From 2017 to 2021 she was appointed by the government as Inquiry Chair with a task of proposing how to restructure the Swedish healthcare system, a task given mainly due to her deep knowledge of the Swedish healthcare system and her broad understanding of change management in complex organizations.
