Dr Baudouin Heuninckx has about 25 years professional and academic experience in public procurement law and management and in international relations in the fields of defence and security, in particular with the EU, NATO and OCCAR. As a Belgian with French roots born in Norway, with a UK legal education and married into a Moroccan family, he is keenly aware of intercultural issues. Holder of a PhD in law and an engineering degree, he always seeks pragmatic solutions to concrete issues. He is a Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional (MCIPS) and an academic in both the UK and Belgium. He held a number of senior positions in the Belgian Armed Forces, including Deputy National Armaments Director and chief counsel of the Procurement Division. He has written numerous books and articles on public procurement, in particular in the fields of defence and security.
