Until October 2018, Anders was a regional councillor in Region Skåne , focusing on healthcare, primary care, psychiatric care, and pharmaceuticals drugs. He held this position for twelve years and during the last four he was deputy chairman of Skåne’s regional board.
Anders has been a member of SKL's (Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions) healthcare committee for eight years and a member of the National Board of Ethics. The national newspaper Dagens Medicin has, for several years, placed Anders on their list of highly influential people in Swedish healthcare.
Anders has been a member of the Swedish Green Party since 1991 and has served as a board member of the national party organisation since 2013. Anders has a nursing degree from the University of Malmö and has worked as a nurse throughout his time serving Skåne as a politician. He is a Senior Healthcare Advisor at Rud Pedersen’s Stockholm office.
